Best Crew Everrr

It’s great to have awesome crew.  Our entry level course, the seven day course takes students through the paces in one week of live-aboard sailing.  This is a more relaxed course where no prior sailing experience is required.

For the theory component you have a choice of NauticEd (the world’s leading online sail training) or ASA (American Sailing Association). The ASA 103 certification is one level under ASA 104 Cruising Skipper.  This teaches you everything you need to know to support the skipper when sailing, entering/exiting marinas and at the dock.

To quote the ASA the 103 certification allows you to

“skipper a sloop-rigged, auxiliary powered keelboat of approximately 30 to 45 feet in length by day in good conditions”.

The course will also provide you knowledge in non-sailing aspects to skippering.  These include provisioning, galley operations, boat systems, auxiliary engine operation and routine maintenance procedures.  It will also take you through the sailing skills such as basic sail trim, the fundamentals of coastal navigation (including basic chart plotting) and GPS operation, anchoring and docking.  Furthermore it covers other important elements such as health & safety, emergency operations, weather interpretation, and dinghy/tender operation.

If you are looking to improve your sailing but don’t want the full responsibilities of a skipper, this is a great course for you to do.
