Fast-Track to Bareboat Skipper

Our most popular course, the seven day Fast-Track course takes students through ASA101, 103 and 104 or to NauticEd Bareboat Charter Master Rank in one go.  This is an intense course where prior sailing experience is recommended.

Both the ASA 104 certification and NauticEd Bareboat Charter Master Rank give you the ability to charter your own monohull as a bareboat skipper for day-sailing.

The ASA say their 104 certification allows you to:

“skipper a sloop-rigged, auxiliary powered keelboat of approximately 30 to 45 feet in length during a multi-day cruise upon inland or coastal waters in moderate to heavy winds (up to 30 knots) and sea conditions.”

The course will provide you knowledge in non-sailing aspects to skippering.  These include provisioning, galley operations, boat systems, auxiliary engine operation and routine maintenance procedures.  It will also take you through comprehensive sailing skills.  Skills such as advanced sail trim, coastal navigation (including basic chart plotting) and GPS operation, multiple-anchor mooring and docking.  Furthermore it covers other important elements such as health & safety, emergency operations, weather interpretation, and dinghy/tender operation.
