We love sailing.  So we keep it simple.

Learn To Sail In The British Virgin Islands

Sailing Virgins keeps sailing simple.  We offer Sailing Courses to beginner, intermediate and advanced sailors.  We also offer the ability to fast-track your learning, combining a whole lotta sailing into a short, intense period of awesomeness. If you want to learn to sail we recommend you learn to sail in the British Virgin Islands.

ASA Classes

Sailing Virgins currently works with the American Sailing Association (ASA).  ASA is one of the largest sailing organisations in the world, particularly applicable to recreational sailors wishing to become bareboat captains and Yachtmasters such that they can charter their own yacht.

Beginner courses

Over one week, learn sailing skills sufficient to become a reliable crew.  You’ll learn the essential knots, the basics of sail trimming, introduction to weather systems and other elements to make you useful on board.

We’ll go the extra mile: for example you won’t just learn a bowline, you’ll learn three different ways to tie it and when suits which method.  Then we’ll get the clock out and time you.  You get the picture.  The Awesome Crew 7 day live-aboard course can be seen and booked here.

Intermediate courses

Sailing Virgins intermediate courses run for one week and turn students into day skippers.  if you’ve done a bit of sailing before, this is the sailing course you should do. If you pass the exam at the end of the week you will be able to charter your own yacht anywhere in the world.  We ASA run 103 and 104 courses separately or you can do them together in one intensive Fast-Track to Bareboat Skipper week.

Advanced courses

Given our position in the British Virgin Islands, our Advanced Sailing Courses offer some of the finest, most adventurous sailing passages in the world, up and down the Caribbean island chain.  The ASA-105 course will give you more in-depth understanding of Coastal Navigation.  We are run our ASA 106 course once every month during the sailing season (November-June). Twice each year (in July and October) we run an advanced adventure sailing course up the islands of the Caribbean, between the Virgin Islands and Martinique.  A true adventure.  Click here for more information on that course.

You can Fast-Track the above courses by taking a seven day Advanced Coastal Cruising ASA Fast-Track, aka Coastal Yachtmaster course.
